PHYSICS TEXTBOOKS AND ITS UNDER-UTILIZATION IN HIGH SCHOOL

ABSTRACT:

We present a summary of the results of an investigation about the use of Physics textbooks (LD) in basic education public schools (EPEB). To collect information, we used questionnaires and interviews with EPEB Physics teachers in Santa Maria/RS. We can say that teachers do not get stuck to the LD, but seem to get stuck at a “way of teaching physics” that is constituted partly by the tradition

already traditional on how to teach Physics and partly by their own teaching experience. This way of teaching has exercises as the central teaching point and the LD’s presence in daily school, reaffirmed more intensely from PNLD, has not contributed to change it.
