LATIN AMERICAN COOPERATION FOR THE TRAINING OF SCIENCE TEACHERS

ABSTRACT:

International cooperation is an enriching strategy that contributes to thinking about building a just/sustainable society. From this perspective, this bibliographical study aimed to characterize cooperation processes for the training of science teachers in Latin America. By means of Discursive Textual Analysis, scientific productions resulting from cooperation activities and regulatory documents of international agreements between universities were analyzed. Four categories emerged from the process: Particularities of cooperation projects and agreements; Objectives and motivations; Understanding on Latin America and Cooperation; Challenges and prospects for science Teacher Training. It is considered necessary to create/disseminate more spaces of cooperation to build new visions about the context of Latin American science education and strengthen the training of current and future teachers.
