SHREDDING DIALOGUES ON THE FOOD CHAIN CONCEPT IN A SCIENCE CLASS IN THE EARLY YEARS OF FUNDAMENTAL EDUCATION

ABSTRACT:

This work analyzes the strategies used to teach the concept of the food chain and the production of sense and meanings by children in a science class in the early years of elementary school. Based on studies on language, we analyzed two distinct events that contemplate the verbal interactions about the concept of the food chain in a classroom. First, we highlight the presentation of the concept of the food chain by the teacher and how children produce meanings to words during the process of understanding. In the second event, we identified the presentation of other concepts related to the theme of the class and the difficulties that the understanding of the food chain model entails. Thus, starting from bakhtinian presuppositions and from historical-cultural theory, the fundamental question presented in this article is the discussion of the dialogical nature of the process of understanding the food chain concept.
