Baby's psychofunctional symptoms and parents/baby therapeutic consultations

Baby's psychofunctional symptoms are related to the quality of primary attachment, especially with the mother. Several studies and researches in this field have early diagnosis and intervention as their main objective. Theoretical concepts as psychic mutuality and transgenerational mandate have showed the influence of parental representation and specially their phantasmatic aspects in the child psychological organization. This article discusses the relationship between the presence of psychofunctional symptoms in the baby and the parents/baby patterns of interaction analyzing 3 axes: behavioral, affective and phantasmatic, as well as their patterns of attachment.
