The influence of additions of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 wt. % Ag on the formation and precipitation kinetics of silver-rich precipitates in the Cu-5 wt. % Al was studied by microhardness changes measurements with the temperature and time. The results indicated that the presence of silver increases the alloy hardness and also interfers on the precipitation kinetics, with a mechanistic change that is related to the silver concentration on the alloys.
