Historical aspects of the neuropsychology: a contribution to the educators formation

The neuropsychology is a science of the 20th century but we need to return to the early history to find its origins. The objective of the present review is to discuss aspects of the historical process of scientific organization of the area with the purpose to provide fundamental concepts to educators interested in the study of learning disabilities. An effective learning theory must consider brain and mental processes since in this only case the educator can understand why the student doesn't learn and so adopt adequated strategies to improve his cognitive rehabilitation.
