UNIVERSITY AND INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE VOICE OF SPANISH STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

ABSTRACT

In this article, Spanish students with disabilities propose recommendations for the university to move towards inclusive education. The research methodology used was the biographical narrative. The instruments of data collection were four: self-reports, biographical interviews, photographs, and lifelines. Students indicate the need for accessibility of university environments, planned transition processes, job counseling services, positive attitude from faculty members, development of inclusive practices, use of technologies, and the need for faculty training on inclusion and disability. The conclusions of this article discuss the main results with previous work and propose proposals for higher education to be inclusive.
