Management of hydric resources: projection of per capita water consumption in Cuiaba

The aim of this research was to identify the level of socio-economic and climatic variables involved in the determination of the per capita water consumption, and even propose a statistical model able to project the demand for water resource in Cuiaba region. The results have indicated that some climatic variables had non-interference in the phenomenon. It was observed that the socio-economic class and the electric power variables contributed the most to the per capita consumption definition. The proposed model to the consumption projection showed 0,7947 of R²; the residues haven’t showed normal distribution, which suggested some adjustments. The association of that tool can help managers in relation to the planning and controlling the potentiality and limitations of the hydrological resources and public services, in a way of finding a better way to use the available hydrological resources and contribute to a sustainable projection.
