Family and social projects aimed at young people: impact and participation

The aim of this work was to study social projects geared towards young people and the impact of such projects on their families. Employing the systemic-cybernetic new paradigm and a social constructionist viewpoint, the study also considered the importance of social networks on people's health. Qualitative research was developed by analysing and interpreting seventeen interviews carried out with seven professionals, five young people and five family members. In the interviews, we identified the need to bring families closer to young people who participated in the projects in order to help empower the young people along with their families and social networks, increasing social participation and contributing to the reduction of poverty and social inequality in the country as a whole.
