Interpersonal bonds: a reflection on the diversity and universality of the concept in psychological theorization

This paper introduces a reflection on the ubiquity of the concepts of bonds and bonding, and specifically about two prominent Psychology authors, who start from completely diverging points of view and methodologies but converge in the acknowledgment of the importance of bonds in ontogeny and in human life. To this end, we propose to deliver initially a quick reflection on the concept of interpersonal bonds in Western literature in general, and subsequently a more detailed analysis of two contemporary authors - Jacob Moreno and John Bowlby. Despite the fact that this choice excludes many other potentially relevant contributions, both in Psychology and in other areas, our aim was not to perform a comprehensive review, but rather a conceptual reflection.
