Infertility: a new field in Psychology health

According to the World Health Organization, it is estimated that between 60 and 80 million people all around the world have faced difficulties to carry their parenthood projects out at some time of their lives. When a person, who wishes to have a baby, realizes this life project is impossible to become true, a lot of feelings are brought out, such as: fear, anxiety, sadness, frustration, depreciation, shame, and sometimes, it unleashes important stress situations. Infertility may provoke devastating effects in individual and conjugal spheres interfere in social relationships and quality of life. Thus, this article proposal is an integrated view of the subject considering the physical processes are intimately related to the psychological and social ones, and Infertility is part of the Psychology Health field. A literature review was accomplished to achieve this study objective.
