Coleoptera in a Eucalyptus camaldulensis plantation in Mato Grosso state

Abstract

This paper deals with studies of beetles population survey in Eucalyptus camaldulensis plantation. The experiment was carried out at the Lindóia Farm, in the municipal district of Campo Verde, State of Mato Grosso. Three stands of Eucalyptus camaldulensis were sampled with the use of ethanol trap in each stand. 1,215 individuals were colleted and, distributed in six families, 23 genus and 45 species. Scolytidae contributed with 71,11% and 54,73% of the number of species and individuals, respectively. Five species were constant, very abundant, dominant and presented the most population peaks in the drought months in the studied area.
