Abstract
In the context of increasing interest on the environmental issues, it is presented a brief analysis of the importance of knowledge announcement about biodiversity conservation initiatives. Some governmental actions compromised with the science announcement around biodiversity are highlighted and their importance in present Brazilian scenery is commented. Finally, it is analyzed how Prêmio Jovem Cientista- 2006 edition (Brazilian Young Scientist Competition) can contribute to the development of the educational component in the implementation of the Brazilian National Policy for Biodiversity.
