Abstract
This study evaluated the technical and economical availability of pejibaye (Bactris gasipaes Kunth.) and australian king palm (Archontophoenix alexandrae Wendl. & Drude) cultivation. After four years, technical analyse was performed through heart-of-palm average productivity found in the field and financial analyse was done through cash flow. Economical analyse was done through Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return and Benefit-Cost Ratio. Pejibaye and australian king palm obtained an average productivity of 13,5 t/ha and 8,4 t/ha in the third and fourth year. Both plants were found economically practical, nevertheless pejibaye cultivation exhibited a better potential.
