ABSTRACT

The mechanization level of logging operation in Brazil has growing at fast rates in the last years. Modern machines able to cut, delimb, buck and forward, called “ Forest Harvesters” are promoting an expressive changing on the logging activities scenery. This study shows an metodology to analize Harvesters equipments. The metodology includes a Time Study Technique, a Regression Analysis Technique and an Equipment Avalability and Utilization Technique. Using these procedure the forest technician will be able to compare equipments and perform logging operation analysis to detect critical points on those activities that are involved in the production process.
