Abstract
In the city of Ilhéus, Bahia, urban expansion processes are directly and indirectly related to social and environmental problems. From this perspective, the objective of this work is to identify the environmental impacts resulting from the urban expansion process in the Teotônio Vilela neighborhood. Therefore, the methodology consisted of a broad theoretical review, qualitative and quantitative information surveys (basic sanitation, water supply, electricity, sewage, garbage disposal) based on the 2010 census (IBGE, 2010INSTITUTO BRASILEIRO DE GEOGRAFIA E ESTATÍSTICA – IBGE. Censos Demográficos. 2010. Disponível em:<htpp://www.ibge.gov.br>. Acesso em: 20 de fev. 2021.
