This article presents the process of product development in ten pioneer companies of the São Carlos Science Park (Brazil). The analysis shows the most important topics found, such as the origin of the product idea, the product feasibility and other aspects related to product success, such as production process and marketing. Finally, there are some sujestions and warnings presented by the companies on the difficulties and solutions found in the product development process.
