This paper presents an analysis of the elements that influence the decision process of distinct institutional arrangements for the wood transport between forest and pulp industries. It aimed, through statistical analysis, at detecting the influence of the variables described in the Transaction-Cost Economics (TCE) for the decision process of institutional arrangements. The discussion includes not only vertical integration aspects, but those regarding the size of the carriers involved in the transactions.
