The types of trichomes in some Lycopersicon genotypes were identified using the scanning electron microscope. The tomato genotypes observed were L. hirsutum (PI 127826 and PI 127827), L. hirsutum f. glabratum (PI 134417), L. pennellii (LA 716) and L. esculentum (Bruna VFN hybrid and Santa Clara). The following glandular trichomes were found: type IV in LA 716, PI 127826, PI 127827 and PI 134417; type VIc in PI 127826, PI 127827, PI 134417 and Santa Clara; type VII in PI 127826, PI 127827 and PI 134417; type I in PI 127826, PI 127827, PI 134417 , Bruna VFN hybrid and Santa Clara; type VIa in Bruna VFN hybrid. The following nonglandular trichomes were observed: type Va in PI 127826, PI 127827, PI 134417, Bruna VFN Hybrid and Santa Clara; type VIII in Bruna VNF hybrid and types III and Vb in Santa Clara.
