Based on the study of two R&D laboratories belonging to the Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), the article discusses questions concerning bigb-school-graduate lab technicians. A necessary pan of such an analysis is the identification of other actors involved in K&D work within the labs and of their activities and singularities. Using methods from ethnographic analysis, we observed interactions between activities and work organization. Combined with analysis of the distribution of duties, this examination pointed up some tendencies in work processes.
