Knowledge transferences and appropriations: Friedrich Bieri and the mathematic to the primary school¹

Starting from the analyses of Friedrich Bieri (1844-1924) work, a Swiss who immigrated to Brazil in the 19^th century, we identified knowledge appropriation produced in German speaking countries in the Brazilian teaching. This study brings up Bieri's profile as well as reports the knowledge transference process occurred and its role in the country of Rio Grande do Sul. Bieri's work analyses allowed concluding that the author, besides being one of the precursors of didactics books for Teutonic schools production, also adopted a German pedagogical proposal adapted to the local context and influenced by Grube's method and its reformulation by Egger.
