Geopolitics and culture: the trajectory of Israel

In this article, we focus on an aspect that social scientists rarely take into consideration: the importance of geopolitics on establishing cultural patterns. We argue that in the case of Judaism the interaction between culture and geopolitics was fundamental for the constitution and transformation of an interpretative key that has been used for almost two millenniums seeking self-understanding of the Judaic communities' historical experience. This interpretation of the Judaic history, however, undergoes profound changes with the arrival of modern time, and more recently with the foundation of the State of Israel.
