In a survey of the species pertaining to genera of large parmeliae occurring in the coastal areas of the center-south coastal areas of São Paulo State, Brazil, seven species of Parmotrema A. Massal. with pigmented medulla (P. aurantiacoparvum, P. cf. cryptoxanthoides, P. endosulphureum, P. sorediosulphuratum, P. subochraceum and P. sulphuratum) are reported. Identification key, descriptions, commentaries, and illustrations based on collected material are provided for these species.
