ABSTRACT
The present work comprises the floristic-taxonomic survey of the family Convolvulaceae in the municipality of Massapê, which is located in the Northwest region of the Ceará State and presents the main type of vegetation, the Caatinga. This study was based in the survey of literatures, query the species type collection, on the morphological analysis of materials from local herbaria and field expeditions. Five genera and 25 species were recorded: Ipomoea (fifteen species), Jacquemontia (five species), Evolvulus (two species), Distimake (two species) and Operculina (one specie), besides the new record of Distimake quinquefolius for Ceará State. We present identification keys, descriptions, illustrations of the main diagnostic features, photographs, taxonomic comments, geographic distribution, period of flowering and fruiting.
