At the beginning of 2012, the “Baillistas” (dancers) collective was created in order to use dance and photography to express the condition of the contemporary body within the routine, habitat and other conditions that big cities impose on their inhabitants. The images presented here are its third essay, named “solitude”, which has a direct bearing on the history and urban transformation of the place where the pictures were taken: Vila Maria Zélia, the first industrial village in the heart of the eastern zone of São Paulo.
