Assessment: a work contract

This paper presents some considerations on the alternative pedagogical proposal called "Solidarity Assimilation", the SA (Baldino, 1995a). These considerations are made according to some perplexities which arose by observing how the traditional pattern of teaching works. Since the concept of merit has changed, the SA is understood at an interventionist proposal, that is: not only achievement is taken into account, but also the work collectively performed in the classroom is rewarded with due fairness. The basic instrument of SA is a Work Contract which when negotiated by teachers and students, establishes links between assessment-approval modalities and cooperative work.
