Sociopoetics as a device for knowledge production

Sociopoetic research is a new method for collective knowledge construction that has the basic principles of valuing research subjects as co-responsible for the knowledge produced and recognizing the importance of the body and artistic creativity, through taking the ethical-esthetic and political dimensions of knowledge production into consideration. Sociopoetics is perceived to be a toolbox that makes it possible to develop knowledge production while taking subjective processes into account and making a commitment towards greater autonomy for the subjects involved. Thus, this text is a theoretical reflection that aims to describe the sociopoetic method and delineate its epistemological basis and theoretical principles. We take the view that expansion of the discussion regarding sociopoetics may contribute towards provoking singularization effects in drawing up research with a requirement to deal with subjective dimensions or in other knowledge production practices with a commitment towards valuing differences and stimulating new subjectivation processes.
