The domains of Educational Technology in the field of healthcare

This article presents the results from a study that aimed to understand the discursive training of Educational Technology and its relationship with the historical, political and social context of Brazilian healthcare reform, by means of an analysis on the collection of the Healthcare Educational Technology Center of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, which was created in 1972. Based on Michel Foucault's theoretical notions of archeology, documents that made it possible to identify pronouncements and evaluate the discursive continuities and discontinuities that characterized the formation of domains of knowledge on Educational Technology were selected and analyzed. It was concluded that three domains of knowledge were constituted: programmed instruction, education-service integration and healthcare education. These bring into play different pronouncements and enable passage from a technical view to a critical view that is committed towards construction of the Brazilian National Health System.
