Education for health: recurring strategies and perspectives in Argentina (1970’s-1980’s)

This article analyzes the changes that took place in the education for health policy in Argentina, under the Primary Health Care strategy. The objective was to identify the reception of international recommendations and their local circulation and reproduction. The first section analyzes, at the end of the 1960’s, the context of the hegemonic crises of the health care model in Latin America, the answers for the legitimacy of the Primary Health Care strategy in international meetings, and the proposal of a new disciplinary perspective in preventive education. The second section focuses on the reception of these ideas in Argentina during the 1970’s, according to the editorial characteristics of the Education for Health magazine, published by the Education for Health Department, during the 1970’s and 1980’s.
