Profile of agricultural production in rural for self-consumption of Mato Grosso do Sul

The purpose of this article is to characterize the profile of agricultural production for self-consumption in territories selected in Mato Grosso do Sul, relating the impact of this production with food and nutritional safety in local communities. To do so, data from 206 questionnaires applied to families of 20 municipalities, from February to March 2010, were used. The results showed the predominance of cassava, milk, banana, chicken and cattle production in the regions surveyed.
