Institutional change and competitiveness in the productive chain of medicinal plants in Brazil

Abstract:

The Brazil has one of the largest reservoirs of biodiversity of the planet, continues showing a low level of competition revealed in the production chain of medicinal plants and one of the reasons are the bureaucratic and institutional in the country. With the approval of the National Policy of Integrative and Complementary Practices (PNPIC) in the SUS National Policy of Medicinal Plants and Herbal Remedies (PNPMF) and the creation of the category of "Traditional Herbal Products" (DRC 26/2014-ANVISA), it is expected to improve the conditions of systemic competitiveness in the sector.
