International road transport of dangerous goods

Abstract

This article analyzes the cargoes transported in South American countries on international highways, identifying the risks that can occur, which trigger impacts to the environment and damage the ecosystem of our planet. Legislation pertinent to the theme, as well as the environmental regulations of Chile, Argentina and Paraguay, and all the regulations of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards - ABNT related to this theme are presented. In this context, the appropriate individual protection equipment that must be used by the drivers, the classification of dangerous products and the necessary requirements for the driver who will transport them - are identified. The results highlight the irregularities in the transport of dangerous cargoes, if mitigation of this problem is not done, through what is presented in the final considerations.
