Mischonyx poeta sp. nov. (Gonyleptidae, Gonyleptinae) is described from Casimiro de Abreu, Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil. The new species can be diagnosed by the shape of retrolateral apophysis of femur IV of male, which has anterior and posterior faces asymmetric. Mischonyx poeta sp. nov. is known only from the type locality.
