ABSTRACT
There are many scales and interview scripts potentially useful to assess emotional, cognitive and psychopathological aspects, but haven’t an instruments library to compile and make available such tools for professionals and mental health researchers. This limitation makes it difficult to locate tools and know their characteristics. For this reason the new book “Assessment tools in mental health” can be a great facilitator of clinical work and research. In this book several assessment tools are presented by type of construct evaluated. For example, instruments for evaluation of depression, mania, psychotic symptoms, among others. In addition, ways to build and validate instruments are addressed.
