This article analyses the concept of Epicurean kritêrion within the limits of the remaining writings of Epicurus. It tries to investigate what Epicurus actually said or aimed to say by this term. Since this concept does not appear alone, but linked to the notion of enargeías, kanôn and krísis, this study also deals with their interrelations.
