Interamerican relations: the new South American agenda and Brazil

The paper aims to critically analyze the model of regional hemispheric governance, conceived from the U.S. in the post-II World War, and several subsequent governance initiatives about regional cooperation, such as Alba, Unasur Defense Council and South American. What degree of compatibility and divergence exists between them on issues related to the themes of regional and global security in view of your objectives, participants and regional foreign policy strategies of its members? Starting from the notion that different conceptions of regional order coexist, what are the prospects of building a regional order in South America in view of the structure of regional polarities and performance of different tasks of leadership, protection and custody regional?
