The process of extinction of the cultural paradigm of modernity is examined. This process, named "post-modernity" for lack of a better term, is analised from the standpoint of one of its chief features, namely the disintegration of the modern idea of a "global" rationality into myriads of "local" rationalities. The author argues that only on the local plane is it possible to face the global irrationality.
