Abstract
This article deals with the importance of the universe of plants in Jamamadi cosmology. I take vegetal shamanism to be the guiding thread which reveals the mirroring and interweaving of the life of plants and the life of humans in multiple dimensions. I focus on shamanic initiation, the ultimate goal of which is to acquire the noko koma, "the poisoned gaze". The outlines of this shamanism are made visible through the relationship with the souls of the cultivated plants, yamata abono, the main auxiliaries of shamans in therapeutic practice, or, in another perspective, in the "world war". I propose a reflection on the limits of the biological category "plant" and, finally, on the characterization of Amazonian shamanism in terms of a cynegetic ideology, given that the pregnancy of plants for the Jamamadi invites us to ask broader questions about the practical and conceptual place attributed to animals.
