Atividade antibacteriana do Aspergillus niger van Tieghem, 1867; pesquisas em 14 amostras da National Collection of Type Cultures (M. R. C.)

The Author investigated the antibacterial activity of 14 strains of Aspergillus niger from the National Collection of Type Cultures. In the Raulin & Mosseray medium, 7 strains presented total activity, never more than 1:10, against Staphylococcus aureus nº 553, The strains of the nrs. 1.161 and 2.390 remained active more than 40 days. The Czapek-Dox medium with 5% of corn-steep didi not improve the results obtained with the Raulin & Mosseray medium. In the yeast with peptone medium all the strains are inactive.
