In this papaer the authors make a revision of the genus Rhopalias Stiles & Hassall, 1898, confirm four species and invalidate two. So, under this genus, we have: R. coronatus (Rud., 1819), R. horridus (Diesing, 1850) R. baculifer Braun, 1901 and R. macracanthus Chandler, 1932. All of them are well described by means of comparative tables and drawings.
