Abstract
The article seeks to show nuances of the modern attitude about the human body, focusing on investigations and systematizations carried out by Leonardo da Vinci, Andreas Vesalius, and William Harvey. As we approach its maps of understanding of the human body, we present some tensions regarding the knowledge of the ancient and medieval tradition as well as some of its propositions, which constitute a certain modern episteme of the human body.
