The article discusses the consequences of the phonograph towards the production, storage and playback of sonorities. From this perspective, it investigates a song by Heitor Villa-Lobos to evaluate the elements related to the phonograph, as well as its meaning and effects. As a result, it intends to offer support for a better understanding of the historical meaning of the phonograph and Villa-Lobos' composition methods.
