Abstract
This study aims at describing in a critical manner the forms, which assumes the reception of Marxist thinking by the exponents of administrative thought (Taylor, Mayo, Drucker, Fayol and Etzioni). We understand the administrative thought as a particular ideal formation and theoretical expression of interests of ruler classes. Methodologically, the research was conducted through dedicated reading of author’s most important texts, limiting its scope from 1911 until 1969. We adopted also a temporal delimitation of administrative thought to the capitalism, a differentiation of Marxism’s paths, besides the detailed procedures to a specification of visited texts. The research shows that the forms of reception were four: indirect opposition, direct opposition, indirect acceptance and relative assimilation. It is important the fact that there is not only a movement of opposition inner the administrative thought, but appears also an effort of assimilation of relevant theoretical elements. The research shows also that even this assimilation as the forms of direct opposition have both difficulties to construct a precise understanding of such Marxist thinking. It can indicate that the contact between such thinking and the administrative thought possibly was made through distorted forms of the first.
