The construction activity is quite important to the local economy of Bahia. Particularly important is its capacity to generate jobs. These aspects make it a priority when discussing projects aimed to accelerate the economic development of the region. Despite all this importance the building industry is now in a deep crises in Bahia. Based upon this scenario, this paper is intended to spot some light on the competitiveness and strategies of contractors and their supply-chain in Bahia.
