This article presents some results of a study developed at Núcleo de Ensino, in Araraquara, SP, Brazil with the aim of characterizing the teachers that are working at high school courses for teachers education. Information was obtained by means of questionnaires and the results about sex, age, civil status, previous experience and responsability for family's maintenance iowere analysed. The analysis focuses the relations of these characteristics with the educacional process, with ottsher similar studies and whith features external to school.
