Journals in action: an exploratory study - bibliometric in management, accounting and tourism

This paper aims to carry out a bibliometric study of all periodic Administration, Accounting and Tourism (national), with a view to presenting the general provisions of these journals. Methodologically, classifies itself as a descriptive bibliometric study, supported by a document analysis done on the websites of all Magazines classified A1 to B5 by QUALIS / CAPES (Triennium 2009-2011). The process of data analysis was made using the techniques of content analysis and document analysis journals available digitally. The time frame was the year 2012, the average time of the field research was three months, given the complexity of the treatment of information. The data were treated by means of frequencies and tables and their discussions were descriptively, as brought to light various information not previously arranged this way in a scientific work. Among the main results have been the unpreparedness of some managements editorials in the process of monitoring and implementation of activities related to the editorial process. Evidence is a concentration of journals with higher qualification in the south and southeast. Few periodic high impact national perspective Finally, the existence of a mass production even in the field printed, limiting access to knowledge. Thus it is concluded that the journals should be constantly evaluated as to their insertions and range, as well as the watchword should be publicizing the acts and facts, as well as its monitoring and qualification of CAPES whose periodization is a factor limiting.
