Artistic expression and call center: perspectives to improve the quality of work life

This study relates an experience with the purpose of improving the telephone operator’s quality of work life through therapeutic art practices. The presence of art in organizations allows the recover of playful and abstract experiences in rational environments, where emotion, speech and gestures are frequently moderated and restrained. This work consists in weekly meetings with groups of about eight participants each, with the aim to discuss the work routine through experiences with paintings, drawings, music, literature, paste-up, modeling and creations with scraps. The self-knowledge and the expression provided through art therapy improves the quality of life, reduces the occupational stress and enhances the customer satisfaction.
