Methods for esttmating weed foliar área: 4. Cassia tora L.

The possibility of estimating the Cassia tora leaf lets area through linear (Y = A + BX) and (Y = BX), geometric or potential (Y = A XB ) and exponential equations (Y = ABX) was studied. The X value is taken from the leaf linear measurements, as: leaf length in the mid rib direction (C), maximum leaf width, in the mid rib perpendicular direction (L) or the product (C x L). The study of 360 leaflets showed that the leaflet area can be estimated as proporcional to the rectangle (C x L). The coefficients was 0,6711 for the top leaflets, 0,7407 for the middle and 0,7759 for the basis leaflets. It was not possible to establish a single coefficient for ail de leaflets.
