Effects of paclobutrazol on growth and flowering of chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum moriflorum, Ramat)

It was studied the effect of different concentration of paclobutrazol [(2 RS, 3 RS)-1-(4-clorofenil)-4,4-dimetil-2,1,2,4-triazol-1-il-) pentan-3-ol} sprayed one or two times, on the growth and flowering of chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum moriflorum, Ramat. Cv. Puritain). The experiment was conducted in greenhouse under controlled conditions. It was observed that paclobutrazol reduced the plant height at all concentration. The best results were obtained with concentrations until 45 ppm of paclobutrazol and 1300 ppm of daminozide, used as pattern, sprayed just once. None of the used concentrations caused plant toxicity.
