The present work was carried out in order to know the distribution pattern of some hy draulic spray nozzles available in Brazilian market. Two or three nozzles of each type were checked on the patternator built according to WHO specifications. The results showed that: a) - there are differences between nozzles throughput pointed by the manufactur or and the actual throughput, being this difference considerable in some cases; b) - it was detected significant deviation in the deposition pattern and swath width between repplications of Polijet blue, Polijet red (ICI) and JD 14-2 (Jacto) nozzles; c) - it was observed uniformity between repplications of the nozzles 8002 and 11003 (Spraying Systems), 80-03 and X3 (Hatsuta), JD 14-1 (Jacto) and Albuz green (Albuz); d) - considering the variations in the deposition pattern and nozzle throughput, it is recommended to carry out careful assessment of the nozzles, mainly for those being used in the pesticide trials, in order to select uniform group of nozzles for a given spray boom to achieve the accurate dosage and distribution control.
